Wilma Jane (Hockersmith) Doxon

Wilma Jane (Hockersmith) Doxon, 88, died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Gove County Medical Center-Long Term Care Center.
She was born Aug. 31, 1925, near Ransom to Chris and Nora (Evans) Hockersmith. She was a 1943 graduate of Gove Rural High School.
She married Henry Doxon on Aug. 10, 1947. He preceded her in death Oct. 25, 2002. She worked for the Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service office, working a total of 25 years prior to retirement.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Doxon, Ogallah, Phillip Doxon, Grinnell, and John Doxon, Gilbert, Ariz.; three daughters, Cynthia Young, Geneseo, Patricia Williams, Surrey, British Columbia, and Delores DeMers, Las Cruces, N.M.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Gove Community Bible Church; burial in Baker Township Cemetery, Quinter.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Schmitt Funeral Home, Quinter.
Memorials are suggested to Gove City Library or Gove Community Bible Church in care of the funeral home.
