Winifred Irene Palmberg

Winifred Irene Palmberg, 89, Ellis, formerly of Palco, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at Ellis Good Samaritan Society.

She was born April 23, 1924, in Rooks County to Vernon Charles and Leola (Pywell) Sutor.

She married John A. (Fred) Palmberg on Jan. 21, 1944. He preceded her in death in 2004.

Survivors include three sons, Gail Palmberg and wife, Linda, Hays, Randy Palmberg and wife, Linda, Newkirk, Okla., and Richard Palmberg and wife, Glenda, Plainville; two daughters, Elaine Grayhill and husband, Jerry, Alva, Okla., and Phyllis Dreiling and husband, Les, Ellis; a sister, Lorene Hamit, Littleton, Colo.; a daughter-in-law, Shirl Palmberg, Austin, Texas; a sister-in-law, Freda Sutor, Cut Bank, Mont.; 19 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Robert, Ronald and John Palmberg.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Palco United Methodist Church; burial in Pleasant View Cemetery, Palco.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, 320 S.W. Second, Plainville, KS 67663.

Memorials are suggested to the church or Ellis Good Samaritan Society in care of the funeral home.
