Zita Lois Wente, 86, Topeka, formerly of Hoxie, died Monday, March 4, 2013, at her home.

She was born Jan. 6, 1927, in Hoxie to Elmer and Elsie (Stanley) Buehler.

She married Raymond Wente on Jan. 31, 1949, in Hoxie. He preceded her in death Feb. 7, 1987.

Survivors include two sons, Ray "John" Wente, Salina, and Edward Wente, Burrton; two daughters, Carol Wente, Topeka, and Janet Bishop, Overland Park; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, Hoxie; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, New Almelo.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday, with family receiving friends at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Helping Hands Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
