Bernice A. Dreiling, 86, Hays, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 29, 1927, in Hays to Clemens "C.J." and Catherine (Dreiling) Haas.

She graduated from Girls Catholic High School in 1945 and from Fort Hays State University with a bachelor's degree.

She married Donald L. Dreiling on May 22, 1948, in Hays.

She taught home economics and social studies for 19 years at Kennedy Middle School, Hays. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a past parish council member.

Survivors include her husband, Donald, Hays; two sons, John Dreiling and wife, Patricia, Austin, Texas, and Mike Dreiling and wife, Patty, Overland Park; a sister, Regina Tarpey, Alexandria, Va.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert and Frank Haas; and four sisters, Lucy Isbell, Bertha Herrman, Angelita Bahr and Leona Haas.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Brock's Funeral Home, 2509 Vine, Hays.

A parish vigil service and rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Hays Medical Center.
