Winston Lee Campbell, 85, Hays, died Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Hays Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 22, 1931, in Tulsa, Okla., to Ralph W. and Harriet A. (Woodworth) Campbell.

He married Juanita Apodaca on May 23, 1969, in Carson City, Nev. He was a motel manager, a city commissioner and was on the board of directors for the Special Olympics while living for many years in Alturas, Calif.

He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

He enjoyed playing fantasy football, was a huge Denver Broncos and Kansas City Royals fan, and he enjoyed playing golf often, including playing twice a day. He enjoyed his dog, Jolene, and his granddaughters.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Christopher Casey Campbell, Los Angeles; three daughters, Jenny Lee Linenberger and husband, Stan, Hays, Deborah Marie Coney and friend, John Dooley, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Diana Arline Campbell, San Jose, Calif.; a brother; Ronnie Campbell and wife, Pat, Cherokee Village, Ark.; a sister; Arline Brown and husband, Bill, Cherokee Village; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Joseph Winston Campbell and Bryon Scott Campbell.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays; cremation will follow the services, and inurnment will take place at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, both at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine, Hays, KS 67601.

A vigil/rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
