Kenneth Joseph “Kenny” Bieker, 83, Schoenchen, died Monday, June 26, 2017, in Schoenchen.

He was born May 12, 1934, in Schoenchen to Alex and Regina (Gottschalk) Bieker. He was a 1955 graduate of Schoenchen High School.

He married Rose Ann Dinges on May 28, 1966, in Schoenchen. He was a driller with Red Tiger Drilling Co. for 30 years and owned Hays Radiator for 20-plus years. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and a Schoenchen Council 3rd degree Knights of Columbus member.

He sang with the Dutch Masters Polka Band for many years and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Schoenchen; a son, Kevin Bieker and wife, Lois, Schoenchen; two daughters, Laurie Werth and husband, Steve, Schoenchen, and Kenda Moore and husband, Rex, Kearney, Neb.; a sister-in-law, Rita Bieker, Hays; eight grandchildren, Ashley Kinderknecht and husband, Adam, Hays, Heather Werth, Schoenchen, Adrianna Bieker and fiance, Austin Haselhorst, Sheldon Werth and fiance Allyson Flax, all of Hays, Audrey Bieker, Schoenchen, and Kolin Basgall, Jarrett Moore and Camden Moore, all of of Kearney; and three great-grandchildren, Aliyah Kinderknecht, Hays, and Jaylin and Jaxtyn Irvin, both of Schoenchen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Marvin, Vic and Willard Bieker; and five sisters, Armella Bianchino, Mabel Pfannenstiel-Gross, Alice Sauer, Nita Lyhane and Lyla Bieker.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Schoenchen; inurnment in the church cemetery with military honors courtesy of the Hays Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brock’s-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601 and from 9 a.m. Friday until time of service at the church.

A Schoenchen council 3rd degree Knights of Columbus rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, followed by a vigil at 7 p.m., both at the funeral chapel.

Memorials are suggested to St. Anthony Church in care of the funeral chapel.
