Marilyn Klaus Flax, 81, Dodge City, died Friday, July 21, 2017, at her home in Lakin. She was born May 20, 1936, in Hays to Martin and Felicitas (Felice Leiker) Klaus. 

She married Clarence Flax on June 13, 1956, in Antonino. He preceded her in death. She was a certified nurse aide.

Survivors include two sons, David Flax, Kalvesta, and Dennis Flax, Rose Hill; two daughters, Clarice Rilinger, Lakin, and Dolores "Dee Dee" Flax, Dodge City; two brothers, Harold and Kenneth; two sisters, Ann and Charlene; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Allen Flax.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City; burial in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City. 

Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Monday at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe or High Plains Retirement Village, in care of the funeral home.
