Joseph J. “Joe” Dinkel Jr., 92, Hill City, died Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at his home.
He was born April 5, 1925, in rural Graham County to Joseph and Amalia (Rohr) Dinkel.
He married Marcella V. Hein on Nov. 24, 1947. He was a general contractor. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, serving during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Hill City; a son, Danny Dinkel, Derby; four daughters, Linda Demjen, Houston, Donna Parks, Hill City, Patti West, Andover, and Susan Pantle, San Pedro, Calif.; a brother, Don Dinkel, Denver; four sisters, Wilma Schumacher, Hutchinson, Mildred Baker, Topeka, Betty Gagnon, Denver, and Joan Zerr, Fort Worth, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hill City; burial in Kansas Veterans Cemetery, WaKeeney.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Friday at Stinemetz Funeral Home, Hill City.
A vigil/rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Masses or The Graham County Hospital in care of the funeral home.
