Francis T. Wildeman, 81, Grainfield, died Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Gove County Medical Center, Quinter. He was born March 27, 1936, in Gove County to Daniel and Mary (Ziegler) Wildeman. He was a graduate of Grainfield High School.

He married Doreen Brungardt on Sept. 5, 1964, in Hays. He worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation in highway maintenance from 1973 until his retirement in 2001. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, of the family home; a son, Troy Leon Wildeman, Grainfield; a brother, Vernard Wildeman, Los Angeles; a sister, Annunicate Weber, Park; a stepbrother, Alvin Gillespie, Winfield; a stepsister, Bonnie Cooksie, Denver; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Grainfield; burial in the Grainfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at St. Agnes Religious Education Center, Grainfield.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Education Center.

Memorials are suggested to the Grainfield American Legion or Masses in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, Quinter.
