Ethel Ann Bretton, 95, Phillipsburg, died Sunday, July 30, 2017, at Phillips County Hospital, Phillipsburg.

She was born Nov. 7, 1921, in Kirwin to Martin Ralph and Mary Viola (Wisehart) Smith.

She married Mavor Orlin Bretton on Oct. 7, 1939, in Agra. He preceded her in death Jan. 28, 1989.

Survivors include two sons, Ralph Bretton, McCook, Neb., and Rex C. Bretton, Phillipsburg; a daughter, Luella Snyder, Ness City; a brother, Ronald Smith, Warsaw, Mo.; two sisters, Delpha Jennings, Phillipsburg, and Vannetta Woodard, Mound City; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg; burial in Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.

Visitation will be from noon until 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, both at the funeral chapel.

Memorials are suggested to Ethel Bretton Memorial Fund in care of the funeral chapel.
