Eugene Donald Boucher, 73, McCook, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at his home.

He was born Jan. 9, 1944, in Rooks County to Hector and Celia (Gognon) Boucher. He graduated from Palco High School and went on to Fort Hays College.

He married Judy E. Barber on March 20, 1965, in Zurich. She preceded him in death Sept. 5, 2016. He was the Mountain Man Candy distributer from 1993 until the present.

He liked to hunt and go trap shooting, and he enjoyed square dancing with his wife.

Survivors include a son, Scott (Crystal) Boucher, Cambridge, Neb.; a daughter, Kris (Jim Beebe) Earnest, Benkelman, Neb.; three brothers, Norbert (Loyce) Boucher, Pennsylvania, Kenny (Lin) Boucher, Arizona, and LeRoy Boucher, Kansas; two sisters, Cleota Dinkel, Kansas, and Sister Vivian Boucher, Nebraska; a sister-in-law, Beverly Boucher, Kansas; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Fritz Virgason and Lucille Fischer; a brother, Eldon Boucher; and a son-in-law, James Earnest.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church; burial at a later date in Plainville Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice.
