Joseph Lang, 93, Victoria, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, at Brookdale Senior Living Solutions in Hays

He was born April 28, 1924, west of Victoria to Bernard and Catherine (Dreiling) Lang.  He attended Victoria High School and spent his lifetime in Victoria. 

He married Velma M. (Kuhn) on Jan. 31, 1949, in Victoria. She preceded him in death March 22, 1998. He was a farmer all of his life and also operated a dairy farm for approximately 10 years

He was a member of The Basilica of St. Fidelis, 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus and more than a 70-year member of the St. Fidelis Choir, all of Victoria.

He was a good marksman and enjoyed playing cards, but also was known for his well-dressed attire and boots. Survivors include two sons, Donald Lang, Batesville, Ark., and Robert Lang and companion, Cathy Schmidtberger, Bedford, Texas; a daughter, Marilyn Nuss and husband, Randal, Derby; a sister, Theresa Dreiling and husband, W. Pat Dreiling, Victoria; three grandchildren, Chad Lang and companion, Jennifer Paynter, Katelyn Pfannenstiel and husband, Addison, and Kristen Nuss; and a great-grandchild, Jaden Lang. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Susan Lang; four brothers, Hilarius, Raymond, Bernard Jr. and Anthony Lang; and three sisters, Mary Giebler, Germaine Gerstner and Catherine Dealy.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 16 at The Basilica of St. Fidelis, Victoria; inurnment in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria.

Family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Sept. 16 at The Basilica.

A vigil and a Victoria Knights of Columbus rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 16, both at The Basilica.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hays Medical Center or The American Lung Association.
