Sue Parmer, 78, Great Bend, formerly of Hays, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at Country Place Senior Living, Ellinwood.
She was born May 7, 1939, in Scott City to Alva Martin and Maude (Briggs Hines) Hopper.
She married Charles Parmer on April 23, 1959, in Scott City. She was a registered nurse for USD 489, Hays.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Silver Cougar Club and was a former RSVP volunteer, all of Great Bend.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Sheldon Parmer and wife, Tammy, Spring, Texas; a daughter, Sonya Rein and husband, J.D., Great Bend; a sister, Joyce Ramsey, Scott City; three grandchildren, Ali Doyle and husband, Michael, and Thomas Rein and wife, Melissa, all of Great Bend, and Sagan Johnson and husband, Matt, Austin, Texas; and a great-grandchild, Myla Rein.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Morse Hopper; and a sister, Evelyn Hutchins.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Great Bend.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church Mission Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend.
