Wilfred Arthur Gallion, 84, Grinnell, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, at Logan County Manor, Oakley.

He was born Oct. 16, 1932, south of Grinnell to Arthur and Leona (Gittinger) Gallion. He was a 1950 graduate of Grinnell Rural High School.

He married Mary Joan Johnson on Nov. 26, 1953, in Gove. He worked for the Gove Road Department. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1955 to 1957.

He was a Boy Scout leader and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Mike Gallion and Stan Gallion, both of Tucson, Ariz.; two daughters, Janet Gallion, Hays and Kathy Marston and husband, Roger, Cheney; a sister, Leona Gallion, Hays; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Marston, Park City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Grinnell Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley.

Memorials are suggested to Grinnell UMC Stained Glass Window Fund or the Grinnell-Angelus Area Heritage Center, in care of the mortuary.
