Thomas Alan “Tom” Walters, 66, Lindsay, Okla., formerly of Garden City, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, in Lindsay.

He was born Jan. 10, 1951, in Hays to Albert Walters and Wilhelmene (Graf) Walters. He grew up in Hays and was a 1970 graduate of St. Joseph Military Academy.

He worked as a sanitation truck driver for the town of Maysville, Okla.

Survivors include a son, Thomas Michael Walters, Hays; a daughter, Crystal Birch, Hays; four stepsons, Dale Root, Lindsay, Willis Keith and Kerry Keith, both of Norman, Okla., and Dana Gofforth, Garden City; four stepdaughters, Tammy Banks and Corena Henson, both of Lindsay, Rose Morrison, Kansas, and Karol Church, Ohio; three sisters, Darlene Walters, Hays, Margie McGivern,Topeka, and Becky Morris, Plainville; four grandchildren;12 step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays; followed by graveside services at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays.
