Lyle Verdin Davison, 80, Ness City, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017.

He was born June 8, 1937, in Wichita to Frank G. Davison and Bertha Delilah Thomas.

He married Mary on April 29, 1956. She preceded him in death March 24, 2017. A fourth-generation Kansan with farming and ranching in his blood, he watched the skies, gambled on crops and livestock as many Davison generations before him had. Those left behind will always recall his interest in the price of cattle, the joy in a good stand of wheat and the glory in seeing the lush beauty of milo in the field. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Davison and wife, Mindy, Salina, and John Davison, Ness City; two daughters, Kathy Brown and husband, Marc, Hutchinson, and Susan Seib, Commerce City, Colo.; a sister, Myra Muzinger and husband, Dick; a sister-in-law, Alvera Davison; her grandchildren, Perry Carr and wife, Erica, Ness City, Audrey Carr Cook and husband, Christopher, Haysville, Kayla Brown Jandera and husband, Jason, Frisco, Texas, and Dalton and Dylan Brown, Hutchinson, Anson Seib and wife, Lana, Ness City, Derrick Seib and wife, Tami, Fort Hood, Texas, Taylor Davison and Lauren Davison, Salina, and Sarah Dechant, Ness City; her great-grandchildren, Natalie Seib, Jackson Seib, Brayden Cook, Melanie Cook, Wyatt Sutton, Callie Carr, Clara Carr and Lylah Carr, Karmen Herrera, Jonathan Arteaga and Elianna Corona.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kent Davison.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Ness City; burial in Ness City Cemetery.

Friends can call from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, both at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.

Memorials are suggested to Rotary Club Scholarship Fund, Cedar Village or United Methodist Church, all of Ness City, in care of the funeral home
