Kaylee Helen Mitchell, 8, Hays, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, at her home.

She was born Sept. 14, 2009, in Hays to Christopher Lee Mitchell and Denissa Helen Haynes.

She was a second-grader, with the STAR Classroom, at Roosevelt Elementary School, Hays.

She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays.

She enjoyed stickers, riding horses, playing with water, watching movies, school and her family, and she had a special feel for the different textures on surfaces of items.

Survivors include her mother, Denissa Mitchell, of the home; her father, Christopher Mitchell; her grandparents, Dennis and Denise (Weishaar) Haynes, Hays, Marilyn Mitchell, Russell; her great-grandmother, Wilmetta Weishaar, Abilene; her aunts and uncles, Danielle and Bronson Scott, Hays, Clarissa and Michael Schneider, Russell, Michael and Lace Mitchell, Conroe, Texas; and her cousins, Claire and Carson Scott.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Robert and Blanche Haynes and James Weishaar.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays; private family burial will be at a later date.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays, KS 67601.

Memorials are suggested to Roosevelt Elementary School in care of the STAR Classroom.
