Velma Ruth (Beach) Cool, 96, Plainville, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, in Plainville.
She was born Jan. 17, 1921, in Hiawatha to Oliver C. and Ruby L. (Housh) Beach.
She married Paul Leander “Brick” Cool on Oct. 13, 1940, in Hiawatha. He preceded her in death. She was a bookkeeper.
Survivors include a daughter, Bette Stamper and husband, Ken, Plainville; two daughters-in-law, Bonnie Haugen Cool, Edina, Minn., and Judy Legleiter Cool, Houston; a brother, Darrell Beach and wife, Janie, Seward, Neb.; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, James Cool and William Cool; three brothers, Raymond Beach, Albert Beach, and Robert Beach; a sister, Thelma Beach; three grandsons, Anthony Cool, Donald Cool, and Matthew Stamper; and two great-granddaughters, Rachel Cool and Jessica Diaz.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, Plainville; burial in Plainville City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to First Congregational Church, Russell or Redbud Village, Plainville, in care of the funeral home.
