Alfred L. “Al” Kuhn, 89, Victoria, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018, at Good Samaritan Society, Hays.
He was born May 21, 1928, in Victoria to Anton M. and Mary (Hoffman) Kuhn.
He married Lucille M. (Stahl) on June 16, 1955, in Plainville. He was a contract pumper in the oil fields for 50 years, a farmer and had a dairy farm for 23 years.
He was a member of The Basilica of St. Fidelis, served on the St. Fidelis parish council, was a board member of the Farmers Co-op Store in Victoria and a board member of Ellis County Farm Bureau.
He enjoyed his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Leon Kuhn and wife, Colleen, Victoria, Norbert Kuhn, of the home; two daughters, Donna Kuhn, of the home, and Diane Unrein and husband, Curtis, Victoria; a brother, Alphonse “Ollie” Kuhn, Victoria; a sister, Laurinda “Lindy” Schmeidler, Hays; four grandchildren, Dylan Kuhn and fiancé, Heather Davis, Nathan Kuhn, Kelton Unrein and Logan Unrein.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Edmund Kuhn and wife, Norine, Emil Kuhn and wife, Zita, and Ermin Kuhn; a brother-in-law, Eugene Schmeidler; six sisters, Albina Dreiling and husband, Otto, Regina Kuhn, Helen Dinkel and husband, Joe, Margaret Kuhn, Oliva Windholz and husband, Ben, and Henrietta Kuhn; three infant sisters, Albina, Mary and Henrietta; four nephews, Marvin Dinkel, Eddy Kuhn, Verlin Dreiling, Tim Kuhn; and two nieces, Susan Davis and Elsie Huser.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at The Basilica of St. Fidelis, Victoria; burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the basilica and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary, 412 Main, Victoria, KS 67671.
A vigil/rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the basilica.
Memorials are suggested to Good Samaritan Society, Hays.
