Marvin Dean Taylor, 83, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Sheridan County Long Term Care, Hoxie.
He was born Sept. 7, 1934, near Tasco, in Sheridan County to Orval and Bernice (Haynes) Taylor. He was a 1952 graduate of Sheridan Community High School and a 1957 graduate of Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture.
He married Kathleen Smith on Aug. 21, 1953. She preceded him in death. He farmed with his father and brother. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include two sons, Neil, Overland Park, and Daniel, Olathe; a daughter, Jeannine, of the home; four brothers, Harold, Hoxie, Ralfe, Payson, Ariz. and Larry and Keith, both of Overland Park; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hoxie Presbyterian Church; burial in Hoxie City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday with family receiving friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, Hoxie.
Memorials are suggested to Sheridan County Benefit Walk, Sheridan County Historical Society or Sheridan County Library in care of the funeral home.
