Esther Corzatt, 87, Hays, died Sunday, April 1, 2018, at Via Christi Village Care Center, Hays.

She was born July 11, 1930, in West Va., to Dr. Frank and Emily Frances (Riggs) Harkleroad.

She married Keith Edward Corzatt in 1969, in Amarillo, Texas. He preceded her in death Nov. 2, 1997. She lived in Amarillo for six years, in New Almelo, Texas, for 12 years and then moved to Hays in 1995. She was a kindergarten teacher for a number of years and earned four master’s in English, music, science and fine arts.

She was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, the Perpetual Eucharist Adoration, Fort Hays University Senior Companion Program and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Morrison, La Crosse ,Theresa Harris and husband, Joe, Ford, and Emily Teel and husband, Jerry, Hays; a daughter-in-law, Misty Corzatt, Fayetteville, Ark.; a step son, Bill Corzatt, Stronghurst, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Angela Meyers, Media, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Angela Patton, Amber Klassen and husband, Johnny, Nikki Probasco and husband, Jon, Robert Cressler and wife, Suzanne, Preston Cressler and wife, Christine, Taylor Teel, Calea Corzatt, Christopher Corzatt; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Frank Corzatt; a stepson, Ronald Corzatt; a brother, Lawrence Harkleroad; and a sister, Mary Emily Smith.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church in care of the mortuary.
