Michael M. Rupp, 94, Hays, died Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Via Christi Village, Hays.
He was born Sept. 17, 1923, in Hays to Andrew and Adeline (Rupp) Rupp.
He married Mildred “Mickey” Bowie Schauvliege on Aug. 5, 1957. She preceded him in death April 24, 2010.
He was a farmer, truck driver for H.M. Popp Truck Line, Farm Implement Dealer and was a financial planner for various financial institutions. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1944 to 1946.
He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Arc of the Central Plains and the Council Estate Planning and Giving.
Survivors include a son, Tim Rupp, Hays; a stepson, Mike Schauvliege, Hays; a daughter, Jennifer Rupp and husband, Gus Hallin, Durango, Colo.; a stepdaughter, Vicki Runge, Hays; a sister, Blanche Von Lintel, Hays; a brother, Marvin Rupp, Hays; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Francis Rupp and Henry Rupp; a stepson, Chuck Schauvliege; and a son-in-law, Tom Runge.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays; burial in church cemetery with military honors courtesy of Hays VFW Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Brocks-Keithly Funeral Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.
A rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Joseph Church or Masses in care of the funeral chapel.
