PALM BAY, Fla. - Kenneth George Shanline, 97, of Palm Bay, Florida, formerly of Turon, Kansas, died Friday, March 30, 2018, at William Childs Hospice House, Palm Bay, Florida.

PALM BAY, Fla. - Kenneth George Shanline, 97, of Palm Bay, Florida, formerly of Turon, Kansas, died Friday, March 30, 2018, at William Childs Hospice House, Palm Bay, Florida.
He was born on January 8, 1921, in Kendallville, Indiana, the son of Albert Earl Shanline and Julianna Shanline. In November of 1942, he married Joyce (Turner) Shanline in Greenville, South Carolina. She preceded him in death on October 23, 1998.
Kenneth was Lutheran by faith. He was a farmer/rancher and Director of South Central Telephone for 35 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, also a member of the American Legion. Kenneth was on the Turon and Fairfield School Boards and developed the feed lot and restaurant in Turon.
Surviving are: two daughters, Frances (Karl) Marcocci of Palm Bay, FL and Julia Shanline of Turon, KS; two grandchildren, Raymond (Chris) Runyan and Deidre (Lee) Loesel; four great-grandchildren, Peter Yoe, Morgan Runyan, Gregory Runyan, and K.C. Gallope; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Kenneth was preceded in death by: his parents, his wife, Joyce; one brother, Rowland Shanline; and one sister, Thelma Bauman.
Cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register book on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Larrison Funeral Home, 400 N. Martin, Turon, KS 67583, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at the Turon Community Church, Turon, Kansas, with Pastor Steve Gill officiating. Burial will be in the Turon Cemetery, Turon, Kansas.
