Harold James Froelich, 82, Colfax, N.C., died Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Moses Cone Hospital.

He was born Aug. 13, 1935, in Hays to Frank Froelich Jr. and Eleanor (Schueler) Froelich. He attended Gorham High School.

He worked in farming, ranching, oil field, truck driving, was high-power lineman and a superintendent in large commercial construction.

He was a member of the Bunker Hill United Methodist Church, Kernersville, N.C.

He enjoyed his family, cooking, dancing, golfing, fishing and going to the beach.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Deborah (Link) Froelich, of the home; four sons, Howard Froelich, Overland Park, Stewart Froelich, Mechanicsville, Va., Steve Froelich, Hays, and Brett Froelich and Bill, Morehead City, N.C; three daughters, Deb Lewis, Hays, Audrey Campbell and husband, Curt, Cimarron, and Dee Dee Rupp and husband, Dave, Hays; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Barbara Beery; and a son, Richard Froelich.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. May 19 at Celebration Community Church, Hays.
