Rosemary “Rose” Schumacher, 86, Wichita, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at her son’s home in Hays. She was born July 14, 1931, in Topeka to Joseph and Anna (Haffner) Staab.
Survivors include three sons, Timothy and wife, Ruth, Hays, Alan and wife, Kathy, and Craig and wife, Jackie, Wichita; a daughter, Sashya and Mikki, Pomona, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and her girls, Skye and Sadie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Schumacher; a son, Robert; a daughter, Linda; three grandchildren, Nathan, Ryan and Keagan; two brothers, Rich and Joe Staab; and three sisters, Lil Fitzpatrick, Aggie Sacco and Lu Isbell.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays.
Visitation will be from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
A rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to The Lord’s Diner, 520 N. Broadway St., Wichita, KS 67214. They were the beneficiary of many of the 1,200 blankets she made for the homeless.
