Charles Marl “Mike” Bloom, 58, Oakley, died Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Hays Medical Center. 

He was born July 6, 1959, in Oakley to John Byron (Buddy) and Beula Faye (Sidles) Bloom. He was a 1977 graduate of Grinnell High School. In his younger years he worked at many of the North West Kansas sale barns.

He married Susan Ohmart on May 3, 1986, in Oakley. He was a lifelong farmer and rancher and also had co-owned the Watering Hole bar. As a licensed electrician, he kept busy repairing all kinds of things.  

He was a member of the American Bowling Association.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, bowling, trap shooting and golfing.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Charlie, Roderick and John Bloom; and a sister Jill (Gary) Prewo.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Gateway Fellowship Church, Oakley; burial in Oakley City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley; burial in Oakley City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to KU Medical Center in care of the mortuary.
