Donna Jo Warhurst, 68, Oakley, died Wednesday, July 11, 2018.
She was born Dec. 14, 1949, in Auburn, Neb. During her freshman year in high school she moved to Oakley, and began living with Dr. James and Paula Marchbanks. She was a 1967 graduate of Oakley High School, attended Colby Community College and later attended cosmetology school in Salina.
She married Robert “Bob” Warhurst on Jan. 5, 1969. She worked at the Oakley Police Department for 32 years, retiring in 2007.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Kathy Boeger and husband, Chris, and Heather Wilson and husband, Paul; her mother; three brothers, Joseph Vontz and wife, Eleanor, Ronald and wife, Valerie, and Charles and wife, Paula; four sisters, Carol Weiser and husband, Randy, Kathy Redger and husband, Dale, Leslie Marchbanks and Rhonda Warhurst and husband, Frank; six grandchildren, Ashley Boeger, Devan Savner and husband, Kyle, Dodge, Dixie and Shelby Ellegood and Audrey Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. James Marchbanks; her best friend, Betty Webber; and two brothers, Roger Maurer and Kenny Ray Maurer.
The family has chosen cremation. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Prairie Mound Cemetery, Solomon.
