Maryann (Singleton) Bucl, 87, died Wednesday, July 11, 2018. in Lenexa.
She was born Nov. 24, 1930, in Des Moines, Iowa to Dr. Walter and Mary Singleton. She grew up in La Crosse and attended La Crosse High School.
She married George Bucl on Jan, 26, 1949, in Hoisington. He preceded her in death. She was a secretary for La Crosse Lumber and Kelly Insurance Agency. They owned the liquor store in Rush Center for several years and an antique store in their home in Rush Center for many years.
She enjoyed antiques, jewelry, shopping. She always took pride in dressing nicely and had quite an eye for fashion. She enjoyed talking about travel, fashion, furniture and interior decoration with her grandson, Aaron. She was an avid reader and enjoyed reading about history, especially World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Ellen and husband, Wes; her grandchildren, Erik Stewart and wife, Heather, Abilene, Aaron Stewart and Fernando Rodriguez, San Juan Puerto Rico and Jeri Ponce de Leon and husband, Daniel, Peyton, Colo.; her great-grandchildren, Spencer Stewart and wife, Cam, Smithville, Mo., Samantha Stewart, Emily Stewart, Erik Stewart II, Nick Sperling, Marisa Sperling, Philip Sperling, Joseph Ponce de Leon and Jackson Ponce de Leon; and two great-great-granddaughters Mollie and Perry Stewart.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hope Lutheran Church, Rush Center.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
