Dr. Candy Kay Charowhas, 47, Ellsworth, died Tuesday, July 31, 2018, in Ellsworth.
She was born Feb. 24, 1971, in Ellsworth to Brent Cunningham and Irene Vodraska.
She married Peter Charowhas on Aug. 5, 1995, in Ellsworth. She believed in family and her Catholic faith.
She enjoyed being a mother, wife and being around multiple friends that were important to her.
She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Ellsworth, and the church altar society, Kansas Optometric Association and involved in many activities with her children including 4-H and youth church activities where she helped teach religious education classes.
Survivors include her husband, Ellsworth; her children, Sailor and Ava Charowhas; two brothers, Jamie Cunningham, Ellsworth, and Alex Cunningham and wife, Allison, Great Bend; a sister-in-law, Kim Bergmann and husband, David; a brother-in-law, Michael Charowhas and wife, Cassandra; four nephews, Cannon Cunningham, Colton Hower, and Blake and Garrett Bergmann; and three nieces, Chesney Cunningham, Jensen Bergmann, and Jade Charowhas.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Firman Werth.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Ellsworth; burial in Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday with family present from 6 to 7 p.m. at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth.
A vigil/ rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to St. Bernard Catholic Church CYO in care of the funeral home.
