Michael W. “PeeWee” Lewis, 56, Galatia, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, at his home.
He was born Feb. 13, 1962, in Denver to Frank and Diana (Engel) McGhee. He was a long time resident of Rush County and Barton County. He was a 1981 graduate of Victoria High School.
He worked for Flame Engineering, Inc., La Crosse, for several years.
He was a member of the Basilica of St. Fidelis, Victoria, and UA Local 669.
He enjoyed anything outdoors. Two of his favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing.
Survivors include a son, Jesse Lewis and wife, Audrey, Ellinwood; his mother and stepfather, Diana and Raymond Gallegos, Galatia; a brother, Joseph Lewis, Salina; a sister, Saska Pfannenstiel and husband, Greg, Hays; and four grandchildren, Jaxon Lewis, Braden Lewis, Keaton Lewis, and Addilyn Lewis.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, La Crosse; burial in La Crosse City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse.
A vigil/rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to St. Ann Catholic Church, Olmitz in care of the funeral home.
