Edwin Weber, 91, Hays, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, at Hays Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 17, 1926, in Modoc to Frank A. and Anna C. (Hertel) Weber. He was a graduate of Bison High School.
He married Lillian Degenhardt on June 19, 1954, in La Crosse. Together they shared 64 years of marriage. He was an equipment operator for Kansas Power and Light based out of Bison.They made Bison there home for 40 plus years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II.
He was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, Hays.
He enjoyed woodworking, playing bingo, cards, fishing and most importantly, spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian, Hays; two daughters; Sharon Younger and husband, Daniel, and Nancy Urban and husband, Steve, all of Hays; four grandchildren, Jennifer Gilliam and husband, J.D., James Younger, Rebecca Urban and Adam Urban; and two step-great-grandchildren, Corbin and Ava Gilliam.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Janice Weber; and an infant sister.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Brock’s-Keithley Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601 and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church.
A combined rosary/vigil service will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel.
