Craig Jacob “Harvey” Parker, 70, La Croose, died unexpectedly, Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at his home .

He was born a twin Sept.12, 1947, in Hays to Thomas F. Parker and Lucille (Staab) Parker. He was a graduate of TMP-St. Joseph Military Academy and attended Fort Hays State College.

He worked many sale jobs, but loved working in the oil industry the most. He retired in La Crosse and considered it his new hometown. During his retirement, he enjoyed delivering meals to the rural population through the Rush County Meal Service Program. His favorite pastime was playing bingo. He was a loyal friend and tried to see the good in others. He enjoyed laughing and making others laugh as well. His recent hobby was researching his ancestry. Above all his Catholic faith brought him solace and contentment.

Survivors include four sisters, Cary Ryan, Columbus, Claudia Pratt and Christine Wasinger, both of Hays, and Cheryl Noorani, Fort Mill, S.C.; his twin sister, Constance Appelrouth, Vienna, Va.; his uncle, Norman Parker, Hays; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Parker, Wichita; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Colin Parker in 1960 and Curt Parker in 2015.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael Catholic Church, La Crosse; burial in La Crosse City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse and from 9 to 9:50 a.m. Thursday at the church.

A vigil/rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to St. Michael Catholic Church, La Crosse in care of the funeral home.
