Ricky Larry Gonzales, 32, Holton, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, at St. Joseph, Mo.

He was born Sept. 27, 1985, in Hays to Julian H. and Vicky (Werth) Gonzales. He grew up in Victoria and Russell and was a 2004 graduate of Russell High School.

He was a delivery driver for the Mission Critical Home Health Supplies of Topeka. He was an E-6 Staff Sergeant in Kansas National Guard and enlisted in 2003 until 2018, then reenlisted this year. He served two tours in Iraq and one to Hurricane Katrina.

He was a member of the Russell Veterans of Foreign Wars and attended St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church.

He enjoyed Texas Hold’em, the military and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his mother, Russell; his extended family, Jaydyn McCorkle, Manhattan; his companion, Melanie Belshe, Holton; two brothers, Nathaniel Rollett and wife, Sarah, St. Joseph, Mo., and Ross Gonzales and fiancée, Harley Smith, Russell; a sister, Randalynn Ehrlich and husband, Bryan, Russell; his grandmothers, Mary Karlin, Dallas, and Doris Werth, Victoria; two uncles, Mark Sepeda and wife, Sue, Port Orchard Wash., Austin Sepeda and wife, Kari, Peoria, Ariz.; two aunts, Rose Rodriguez, Dallas and Judy VonFeldt and husband, Dale, Olathe; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father; an uncle, Ricky Gonzales; a nephew, Brody Ehrlich; and his grandparents, Al Karlin and Kenny Werth.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Russell; burial in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Russell with military honors by the Russell V.F. W. and the Kansas National Guard.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary, 412 Main, Victoria, KS 67671 and from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

A vigil/rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to the Russell V.F.W. Post No. 6240.
