Elmer John Boxler, 94, Hoxie, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at Sheridan County Health Complex, Hoxie.

He was born April 7, 1924, in rural Graham County to Matthew and Thresa (Pfeifer) Boxler.

He married Norma (Treu) Boxler on Feb. 7, 1953, in Hoxie. He was a supervisor for Sheridan County Weed, Road and Bridge Department. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Craig Boxler, Salina; a daughter, Nancy Barrett, Aurora, Colo.; a sister, Carolyn Nelson, Denver; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Hoxie; burial in St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Cemetery, Hoxie with military rites by Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, Hoxie.

A vigil/rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Sheridan County Amusement Co., Hoxie Golf Course, or St. Frances Cabrini Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
