Duane Frances Leiker, 74, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at Littleton Advent Hospital, Littleton, Colo.

He was born April 13, 1944, in Hays to Marcellus and Alice (Roth) Leiker. He grew up on a family farm near Munjor and in the Hays area. He attended grade school in Munjor and Hays. He was a 1962 graduate of St. Joseph Military Academy and a 1970 graduate of Fort Hays State University with a bachelor of science degree in business.

He married Joyce Hill on Oct. 17, 1974, in Golden, Colo. His business career spanned all areas of industrial management. He went to basic military training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. and served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1964 to 1969. His last year was served as active duty in Vietnam. He received a Bronze Star for ground operations against hostile forces.

His hobbies were fishing, traveling and golf.

Survivors include his wife, Littleton; a daughter, Kretice (Leiker) Crowson and husband, T.J., Highlands Ranch, Colo.; three brothers, Kenneth Leiker, Ellis, Allen F. Leiker and wife, Marie, Hays, and Dean Leiker, Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Judy Leiker, Atwood; three grandchildren, Reed, Brady and Jett Crowson, all of Highland Ranch; an aunt, Anita Lange, Denver; a nephew, Marc Allen Leiker and wife, Amy, Hays; a niece, Kathyrn Marie Zolnierz and husband, Marc, Hays; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Juanita Leiker.

Committal services with military honors will be at 9 a.m. Friday in Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, Lakewood, Colo.

Memorials are suggested to American Legion Post No. 103 Honor Guard, Littleton or American Heart Association.
