Albina C. Besperat, 90, La Crosse, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018, at Rush County Memorial Hospital Intermediate Swing Bed, La Crosse.
She was born Nov. 10, 1928, in rural Timken to John M. and Elsie (Stika) Oborny. She was a lifelong resident of Rush County, moving to La Crosse in 1975.
She married Charles J. Besperat on April 15, 1947, in Timken. He preceded her in death Oct. 12, 1973. She was employed at the Dee Ge Café in Rush Center for 30 years before retiring in 1999. During her retirement, she volunteered at A Second Chance Thrift Shop in La Crosse.
She enjoyed cats and always had one for a companion. She enjoyed visiting and working crossword puzzles.
She had a strong prayer life and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and St. Michael Altar Society, both of La Crosse.
Survivors include two sons, John Besperat and wife, Charmane, and Charles Besperat and wife, Debbie, Branson West, Mo.; two daughters, Patsy Basgall and husband, Ron, Basehor, and Kathy Basgall and husband, Ray, Topeka; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandsons; a nephew; and three nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant grandson, Jeffrey Lee Basgall; and a sister, Elizabeth Oborny.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, La Crosse; burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Timken.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse and from 9 to 9:50 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
A vigil/rosary will be at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
