Margaret “Mae” Van Eaton, 93, Oakley, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018, at Logan County Manor, Oakley.

She was born Aug. 2, 1925, in Rozel to John and Elizabeth (Bott) Boese.

She married Gerald “G.W.” Van Eaton on Jan. 18, 1941, in Larned. He preceded her in death. They moved to a farm South of Monument, in 1947, where she cared for their children and was a farm wife. They later moved to Mingo and then Oakley.

She was a member of the Monument Mothers Club and the Willing Workers.

She enjoyed playing the organ and going to card parties.

Survivors include a son, Steven Van Eaton and wife, Pam, Monument, three daughters, Geraldine Van Eaton,Hays, Joyce Homm and husband, Charlie, Oakley and Marjorie Dohm and husband, Darryl, Grinnell; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Hulda Haberman and Dorothy Boese.

Services will be at 10 am. Friday at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley; burial in Oakley City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
