Marvin Eugene Brack, 88, Ellis, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, in Hays.
He was born June 19, 1930, in Ellis Countyto Isaac and Bertha (Schum) Brack. He was a graduate of Ellis High School.
He married Norma Jean Scheck on Feb. 27, 1957 Since 1983, he has been in a relationship with his girlfriend, Doris Gallion. He worked for the railroad, drove a water well truck, delivered bank statements, installed dishwashers, and scrapped metal. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War as a tank commander in the seventh Infantry Regiment, third Division, from Aug. 20, 1952 to June 4, 1953.
Survivors include his ex-wife, Norma; his girlfriend, Doris Gallion; three sons, Roger Brack, Ellis, Larry Brack, Hill City, and Robert Alan Brack, Topeka; two daughters, Marilyn Dinkel, Ellis and Rose Brack Smilie, Ellis; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A graveside committal service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery, WaKeeney. Military honors will be provided by Fort Riley Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, both at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney.
