Teresa J. “Terri” (Vestring) Hamlin, 63, Russell, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 6, 1955, in El Dorado to James W. and Delores “Dode” (Murray) Vestring. She grew up in Burns, attended school there, before moving to Wichita and graduating from South East High School. She later attended a year at Kansas University.

She married Christopher Hamlin on Feb. 7, 1981, in Wichita. She was a certified nurse aid for Wheatland Nursing Center in Russell for more than 18 years.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, of the home; two sons, Cody Hamlin, Russell, and Tyler Hamlin, Hoisington; a daughter, Jennifer Klaus, Hays; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary, Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Russell; burial in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Russell.

Visitation will be until 8 p.m. Tuesday with family present from 6 to 7 p.m. at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell.

Memorials are suggested to Terri Hamlin Memorial Fund in care of the mortuary.
