Donald V. Linenberger
Donald V. Linenberger, 88, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, in Yukon, Okla.
He was born Nov. 27, 1925, to Alex and Angeline (Ouelette) Linenberger. He attended schools in Hays and graduated from St. Joseph Military Academy in Hays.
He married Irene Stegman on Feb. 7, 1950, in Loretta. He worked with his father in church decorating and later had a painting business. He retired in 2002 in Yukon. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II.
He was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church.
He enjoyed the Golden Sagers at St. John's and the senior center. He enjoyed being a good husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years; three sons, Del Linenberger, Glenn Linenberger and wife, Mercy, and Jeff Linenberger; two daughters, Donna Hinman and Brenda Calvery and husband, Larry; a brother, Rene; five sisters, Bernice, Joyce, Shirley, LaVonne and Marla; four grandsons, Dustin, Dirk, Adam and Jakob; four granddaughters, Natasha, Amanda, Skyler and Hannah; and a great-granddaughter, Kenzley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steven; a grandson, Alex; and a twin brother, Kenneth.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church; private burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays.
