Flossie Mae Hake
Flossie Mae Hake, 88, Overland Park, formerly of Plainville, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at Villa Saint Joseph Nursing Home, Overland Park.
She was born July 6, 1925, in Stockton to Jesse Milton Hunt Sr. and Genevieve (Campbell) Hunt.
She married Edward John Hake on Aug. 26, 1946, in Plainville. He preceded her in death in 1998.
She was employed by the state of Kansas, working with Helping Hands until retiring in the early 1980s.
Survivors include four sons, Jerry Hake, Battleground, Wash., Dan Hake, Norman, Okla., Leon Hake, Wichita, and Brian Hake, Olathe; two daughters, Jane Weis, Hoxie, and Marilyn Byrd, Overland Park; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Leo Hake.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Plainville; burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, Plainville. A Ladies Guild rosary will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Villa Saint Joseph Care Center or Saint Luke's Hospice in care of the funeral home.
