John Edmund McCabe
John Edmund McCabe, 50, Winona, Miss., formerly of Hays, died Friday, May 16, 2014, at his home on the family farm in Winona.
He was born Nov. 13, 1963, in Sweetwater, Texas, to Edmund Lee and Martha Jean (Sandidge) McCabe. He was a 1982 graduate of Hays High School and a 2003 graduate of Fort Hays State University with a bachelor of business administration degree.
He married Teresa Dreiling on June 1, 1996, in Hays. He worked for John Richard in Greenwood, Miss., as a network administrator and moved to Mississippi in 2013. He was a network administrator at Fort Hays State University for five years.
He was a gunsmith and an avid outdoorsman.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Nathan Dreiling and wife, Kasey, Hays; his parents, Hays; two sisters, Martha Lee McCabe, Wichita, and Amy Louise Stump and husband, Frank, Denver; a nephew, Matthew Dorzweiler, Hutchinson; two nieces, Sara Masura and husband, Jon, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Lisa Dorzweiler, Denver; and two grandsons, Lee David Blundon and Connor James Dreiling.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lester and Ella (Penn) McCabe, Henry Brown and Minnie Mae (Austin) Sandidge.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, 12th and Fort, Hays; private family inurnment will be at a later date.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays, KS 67601, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
