Kenton Watts Casad, 92, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

He was born July 17, 1922, in Rooks County to Russell and Ethal (Watts) Casad. He was a 1940 graduate of Woodston High School and a 1944 graduate of Fort Hays State College.

He married Beatrice Haislip on Aug. 27, 1948, in Richmond, Va. She preceded him in death. They moved to the farm east of Stockton in 1950, where they made their home for 55 years. He was a farmer and rancher. In 1992, they moved to Hays, and in 2006, they moved to Kansas City to retire. He was a U.S Navy veteran of World War II and was an officer on the USS Logan.

Survivors include two sons, Brent Casad and wife, Debbie, and Andy Casad and wife, Cheryl; a daughter, Jody Chatam and husband, Jerry; seven grandchildren, Blake, Shannon, Joey, Hanna, Jeff, Brian and Kelli; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Stockton Cemetery.
