Marvin Wayne Sprenkel


Marvin Wayne Sprenkel, 92, Quinter, died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Gove County Medical Center Long Term Care, Quinter.

He was born Feb. 7, 1922, west of Quinter to Emmert and June (Winkler) Sprenkel. He started school in the new Quinter Grade School and graduated in 1940 from the new high school.

He married Willetta Blickenstaff on Feb. 7, 1942. When he returned to Quinter, he bought a store that became known as Sprenkel Home and Auto. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II for almost three years.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kathy, three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Libby, in 1964.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Quinter; burial in Baker Township Cemetery, Quinter.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church.
