Shannon Christopher Botz
Shannon Christopher Botz, 38, died Friday, April 18, 2014.
He was born Nov. 4, 1975, in St. Paul, Minn., to Brad and Jane Botz. He completed elementary and middle school in Garden City. In 1991, the family moved to Salina, where he graduated from Salina High School South. He graduated from Kansas Wesleyan University, majoring in computer science.
He was a lead computer services technician at the school.
He was dedicated to his profession and enjoyed helping faculty, staff and students at any time. He enjoyed cooking and contributing to KWU socials and family gatherings. Even though he struggled with increasing health issues, he gave his best to family, friends and KWU.
Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Daniel and wife, Angela, Salina, and Chad, Rochester, Minn.; a nephew, Alexander, Salina; and two nieces, Oriana and Katelyn, both of Salina; his grandmother, Ethel Aamot, Minot, N.D.; his aunts and uncles, Ken Yantes, Brocket, N.D., Dean Yantes and wife, Bonnie, Grafton, N.D., Jean Sedo and husband, Phil, Salina, Lloyd Yantes and wife, Deb, Faye Primeau and husband, Jon, Virginia Eckert and husband, Steve, Minot, Sandra Kerr, Grand Forks, N.D., Bob Botz, and wife, Rhea, Casper, Wyo., and Gladys Botz, Bismarck, N.D.; and 16 cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Samuel Yantes, Allyn and Jean Botz; and an uncle, Albert Botz.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Salina.
Memorials are suggested to Kansas Wesleyan University to establish a scholarship fund.
