Sister Irene Kohne, CSA


Sister Irene Kohne, CSA, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Nazareth Center, Fond du Lac, Wis.

She was born July 10, 1920, in Decatur, Ind., to Julius and Mary (Miller) Kohne. She graduated from St. Agnes School of Nursing. She received a B.S.N. from Marian College in 1946. She did post-graduate studies in surgical nursing at Marquette University and received an M.B.A. in Hospital Administration from Xavier University, Cincinnati, in 1963. In 1962, she took summer courses in pastoral seadership at Rockhurst College in Kansas City. She also took corporate ministry courses toward an M.M. at St. Louis University in St. Louis, Mo., from 1973 to 1974.

She made her profession of vows in the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes on Aug. 15, 1941. She was the administrator of St. Anthony Hospital in Hays.

Survivors include her nieces; a nephew; and the Sisters of St. Agnes.

Services were Friday at Holy Family Parish Church, Fond du Lac; burial in St. Joseph Springs Cemetery.
