Jesse Daniel Pfannenstiel, 40, Woodston, died Friday, April 18, 2014, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born March 28, 1974, in Eureka, Calif., to Judith Weigel and Robert G. Pfannenstiel.
He graduated from Plainville High School in 1992 and received a bachelor's degree in industrial arts from Fort Hays State University.
He was a self-employed farmer and carpenter. He was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed fishing and hunting, and he was a master gardener. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Judith and Robert Chesney, Woodston; his father, Robert G. Pfannenstiel, DeSoto, Texas; his fiance, Brandy Link, Fort Morgan, Colo.; a sister, Kimberleigh Chilcott and husband, Rob, Larned; two brothers, Robert Pfannenstiel Jr., Eureka, Calif., and Dustin C. Pfannenstiel, Woodston; two nieces, Danielle Chilcott, Larned, and Katrina Pfannenstiel, Eureka, Calif.; and a nephew, Damon Chilcott, Colorado Springs, Colo.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Kerri Brook.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Plainville; private family inurnment to follow at a later date.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 12:30 p.m. until service time Tuesday, all at the church. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. today at the church.
Brock's Funeral Chapel, Hays, is in charge of arrangements.
