Michael R. Grabbe, 58, Hays, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at his home.
He was born Nov. 17, 1958, in Hays to Richard and Alta (Roth) Grabbe. He graduated from Thomas More Prep-Marian High School and was a 1981 graduate of Fort Hays State University.
He married Debbie (Strange) on May 23, 1981. Through his hard work and dedication, he expanded Grabbe Farms, the family farming and ranching operation, and he was a livestock order buyer.
He was a member of the Kansas Livestock Association and National Cattleman’s Beef Association.
Survivors include his wife, Hays; two sons, Matthew Grabbe and wife, Jennifer, and John Grabbe and wife, Julie; three grandsons, Wyatt, Mark and Jackson Grabbe, all of Schoenchen; his mother, Hays; and a sister, Anne Lang and husband, Brian, Hays.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Schoenchen; burial will be at a later date. A luncheon will follow at the Schoenchen Community Center.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Brock’s-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.
A combined rosary/vigil will be at 6:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the Fort Hays Foundation in support of the Agricultural Business program.
