In voters' hands
This has been one tough summer. One might say the temperatures have been brutal.
The cattlemen have to be worried to death. Pastures are burning up and feed could be very short this winter -- it's an act of God, and there's little they can do.
The fall crop people are in the same peril. Again, they are in the hands of God. I personally lost my car wash building in a tornado, and my home suffered hail damage. Again, an act of God and nothing could have been done.
My 85-year-old father fell down a cliff and broke his collarbone and hip in two places. He too is in the hands of God and doing well. But, there is one disaster that we can do something about.
I picked up the newspaper and I saw Dennis Pfannenstiel is running for county commissioner again. He didn't get his $10 million building last time he was in office, so, Lord only knows what he hopes to build this time and for how much. This is one disaster we can do something about.
Please get out and vote. If he gets back in, the other two clones will do exactly as he wants them to. The last time he was in, hard-working citizens had to organize a petition to stop him from spending millions.
He indicates he loves serving the people, but I haven't seen him volunteer to donate his $18,000 a year salary back to the county like Glenn Diehl did. Heck, if he volunteers to do that, I might even vote for him. Having said all of that, this one is in the hands of the people. Let's keep the good old boys out of office.
