Stand up

I am praying that the sheep (two-legged) -- as we are thought of and treated by state, local and federal politicians -- wake up before election time next year.

Has anyone else noticed how many U.S. senators and representatives are jumping ship (especially within the Republican Party?) They seen the handwriting upon the wall and now that they want to come back home and be the governor, etc.

Take Sen. Samuel Brownback. This man has been a U.S. senator far too long, for if one really examines his performance (not what he says) they will see he has done nothing for the U.S. of A. Sure, he has brought some "candy" home to the people of Kansas, but make no mistake, we have and will continue to pay for that "candy."

Now, he wants to be our governor, a cushy job that he can sleep-walk through for a couple of terms. Perhaps at the end of that time the Republican Party will have to come to their senses and retake Washington, D.C., and Sam will go back to D.C.

What we need is fresh blood/fresh thinking and most of all a person as our governor that has not become part of the U.S. problems.

The only real American in Washington is Rep. Ron Paul from Texas. This man has stood tall and not backed down, nor will he back down. If we, the people, had a few more like him in D.C. then perhaps we could/would return this once great nation under God -- to what our founding fathers lived and died for.

Time for change is now, but only we, the people, can make this come true. Open your eyes, ears, and stand up!

The Rev, Ron Ely
